Bulsha:- After being officially introduced on September 12, 2023, the iPhone 15 series was widely reported to have problems. Many users have complained about the new cellphone. So, what are the complaints?
1. Overheating
One of the most common iPhone 15 series problems is overheating. Many users have shared their experiences, one of them being Ian Selbo of 9to5Mac. Tests conducted by Android Authority also showed this problem. During intensive activities, the cellphone temperature can reach 40 degrees Celsius.
Apple says this is an iOS issue and will be fixed in a future update. Users often face overheating issues while playing heavy games, Facetime calls, and 4K video recording.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo argues that this is not a fault in TSMC's 3nm chip manufacturing process. According to him, this was due to Apple's steps to compromise the heat dissipation design.
Apple said that this had nothing to do with the design of the phone. An unnamed Apple spokesperson specifically stated that the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro phones heat up quickly due to third-party applications.
"Several popular applications such as Instagram, Uber, and the Asphalt 9 game are examples of applications that can cause the device to run hotter than usual," said the source, quoted by The Verge.
Additionally, other factors such as a USB-C power adapter with more than 20W charging and background processing that occurs immediately after the phone is restored, can make the phone hotter.
2. The battery swells
A Redditor with the username u/Leather_Cheerio_402 uploaded an image of his iPhone 15 Pro with a swollen battery that caused the cellphone screen to bulge.
The user said he had only had the phone for a few days and noticed the problem when trying to install the case. "Picked up the phone on Monday and didn't realize it at the time," the iPhone owner explained in a Reddit post as quoted by Gizmo China, September 30, 2023.
"Wearied the case a few days ago and it didn't fit. I was about to order a new case, but then realized that the phone was swollen. It still works for now," he added.
He took the phone to an Apple Store but was told he had to take it back to Verizon, where they purchased it. The iPhone community criticized Apple for this response, saying Apple should be able to help users, regardless of where they purchased the phone.
Luckily, the owner later mentioned in the thread that Verizon had agreed to exchange the unit. This is the first case of an iPhone 15 Pro with a swollen battery, and it is not yet clear what causes the phone to experience a swollen battery.
3. Freeze at startup
Quoted from 91 Mobiles, several users who tried to transfer data during the iPhone 15 setup process were faced with a boot loop at the Apple logo. Apple has rolled out iOS 17.0.2 update to fix this bug.
4. The rear glass is easily damaged
The back glass of the iPhone 15 Pro Max broke in a durability test conducted by Youtuber JerryRigEverything. In testing, this cellphone broke within seconds when bent by hand.
He asked whether this had anything to do with the difference in tensile strength between the titanium and aluminum components used. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15, and iPhone 15 Plus stood up to the same tests just fine.
