Bulsha:- The riots that started this morning in Boorama have intensified, after angry people gathered in the center of the city and on the important roads for the movement of people and traffic in and out of the city.
The violence that resulted from the killing of the deputy commander of the navy on the coast of Awdal region, has turned into a public uprising, with the public holding a demonstration that was seen raising the Somali flag in the center of the city.
Also, the people were passing through the important streets of Borama with the Somali flag, which is forbidden to be taken in Somaliland, while they were shouting words against the Somaliland government led by Muse Bihi.
The police who intervened in the violence in Borama, used live ammunition against the protesters, which has so far confirmed the death of one person and the number of injured, some of them serious, who are being treated at the city's main hospital.
The protestors demanded that the soldier behind the attack be sent to prison and sentenced to death by the Somaliland Military Court of First Instance yesterday.
The accused, named Dable Ahmed Abdi Abdillahi, killed Commander Khadar in Lawyocaddo on Wednesday last week.
The people of Borama also argued that they will not stop their demonstration until the execution of the death sentence against Dable Ahmed Abdi.
The strong tension caused by this issue was also widely felt throughout Somaliland, as many citizens rose up against the manner in which the killing took place, demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice as soon as possible.
However, the violence in Boorama comes amid the ongoing war crisis in Lasaanood, which is remembered as the beginning of a rebellion that resulted from murders in the city, and later turned into violence and outright war.
