Bulsha:- The administration of Lasaanood, the capital of Sool region, today released a new official report on the casualties caused by the war in the city, which lasted for 24 consecutive days.
The mayor of Lasanood, Abdirahman Ali Ismail, who spoke about the total loss, revealed that the number of deaths and injuries has increased.
Abdirahman Ali Ismail confirmed that 210 people have died, most of them civilians, and 680 others have been injured.
He also mentioned that the wars that are still going on there have displaced about 200 thousand families, who lived in the city of Lasaanod and its surroundings.
He also pointed out that 755 houses belonging to civilians were destroyed in these wars, after being hit by a heavy bombardment.
The mayor of Lasaanood also said that Somaliland has committed serious violations in the city, and at the same time it has destroyed the important centers of public services as well as the houses of the people who have been displaced there.
On the other hand, the war is still going on, and the forces of the two warring sides are facing each other, which worsens the difficult situation in Lasaanod.
During the war, the Somaliland forces were captured in a large area, and they withdrew from the areas where they were fighting in Lasaanood & Tukaraq.
It is not known how things will turn out and where the issue of Lasaanood will end, as the two sides have not yet made any compromise.
However, there are increasing calls from the international community to Somaliland and the local people, to calm the tension in the city of Lasanood.
