Bulsha:- A helicopter belonging to the African Union ATMIS mission, which was training officers of the Somali National Army, crashed in Balidoogle area of the Lower Shabelle region, killing three people and injuring eight others.
ATMIS regrettably pointed out that three of the eleven passengers on the plane lost their lives.
Eight injured officers were taken to Mogadishu for medical treatment.
The head of ATMIS, the Special Envoy of the African Union in Somalia, Ambassador Mohamed El-Amine Souef, expressed his condolences to the families of the dead and wished the wounded officers a speedy recovery.
ATMIS said that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
